Parents are welcome at Rideau Park!
At Rideau Park, we believe in communication that is respectful, regular, informative, ongoing and student-centered. Theses are some of the ways we keep families informed and engaged: our family handbook, website, SchoolZone, class newsletters, monthly principal’s messages, Meet the Staff Evening, goal-setting conferences and celebrations of learning, School Council meetings, and invitations to student-led assemblies.
The Rideau Park School Council is a group of parents, teachers and the school principal who meet monthly to discuss upcoming events, issues in education in the school, district and province and ways in which parents can support the education of their children and enhance the effectiveness of the school. An executive is elected in the spring and includes a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and key communicator. For more information, please email rideaupark.schoolcouncil@gmail.com
Friends of Rideau Park Society organizes and runs all the fundraising initiatives in order to support the goals established by the School Council. In the past, Friends has supplied the students with: hot lunches, special guests/presentations, field trips, year-end barbeque, student technology supports, patrol incentives, special treats for cultural events, library and home reading books, and student agenda books.
